common Foot Problems and the best home remedies

The human foot is an amazing body part. You see, it comprises of at least 50 ligaments, 33 joints, 26 bones, and 42 muscles (ooh, and 250,000 sweat glands), all which work in synergy to keep your foot healthy and moving.

Now, what’s amazing is that, however small your feet may look they are built to handle hundreds of tons of force every day! Amazing, right? Well, not until you start experiencing some of the common foot problems.

From the common problems such as sweaty feet, blisters, shoe rubbing and itchy feet to the more serious ones such as athlete’s foot, bunions, flat feet, and so on.

Oooh yea! We know you hate those liquid-filled soft pockets that form on your feet’s skin. They can be quite irritating and severely painful, especially when you wear shoes. These are blisters, mostly caused by friction, burning, freezing, infection or chemical exposure.

If you have blisters, don’t panic; you don’t have to go to the hospital. There are several ways you can get rid of them right from the comfort of your home.  Firstly, you can burst them using a sterilized needle rubbed with alcohol and water, and then cover the area with a bandage. It will be a bit painful at first, but hey, that will be the end of the problem! Not a fun of needles? Well, not to worry; head to the nearest pharmacy and get some OTC drugs such as antibiotics ointment.

4. Gout

Not expected gout to be part of the problems affecting the foot? Well, it’s here and we will tell you why. You see, gout is a condition caused by excessive uric acid in the body, and mostly affects the joints. Having numerous joints, the foot is one of the body parts that is affected the most, with the big toe taking the biggest hit.

So, What to Do?

Wondering how to treat gout? Simple! It’s all about diet and proper management. If the pain is too much, try icing it down by applying a pack of ice on the joint. Also take plenty of fluids to keep your body hydrated to flush out uric acid. 7. Toe Nail Fangus

Discoloring of toe nails may seem like something usual, because you don’t feel any pain but tit may be toenail fungus. If you live in wet areas, keeping your feet warm and damp or walking barefoot most times may contribute to toe nail fungus.

8. Flat Feet
